May 2010 E-Message / You Are Among the Mighty

I want to talk to you now about something dear to my heart from the Word of God. I want to talk to you about Gideon, his mighty Force and your personal call. The story of Gideon represents so many of us in today’s generation. The enemy was intimidating God’s people during this time much like our day. Gideon was somewhat in hiding when he received a clarion call from heaven to do a work for his generation. Gideon and Israel were so hampered by the enemy that practically no one was rising to fulfill their purpose. God had to speak a Word to quicken Gideon. The angel of the Lord said, “The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour” (Judges 6).

Like with Gideon, God is concerned for your future too. No matter how sloppy our past or no matter how timid we may be, God will inject us with the proper inoculation that will cause us to be who we are in Christ. He may speak a Rhema Word that will stimulate your action; He may choose to give you a vision or dream; God may inspire you by the written Word such as:

If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:32); “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37); or, “…as He is, so are we in this world.” (I John 4:17).

Don’t worry! God has a million plus ways to bring us effectively, efficiently, productively and safely to our course and ultimate destination.

I was a sure candidate for God to show Himself mighty. Many of you may not know that before I was filled with the Holy Spirit and thus finding out who I was in Christ, I was intimidated by the intimidator. I would literally hide under the bed when visitors came to my parents home. Also, as a child I was placed in special speech class for obvious reasons. Many, many deficiencies were attached to my past, but God gave me vision and spoke Words into my being. The Holy Spirit helped me and he can help you also.

You may be a leader like Gideon, you may be part of a group as Gideon’s mighty Force of 300; or, you may be flying solo as a missions worker. Whoever you are and wherever you are from - you are a champion in Christ. You are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). A similar word to use for “workmanship” is “Masterpiece”. You are a work of art in the Master’s gallery. Praise the Lord! God loves you…

Before, I close I want to leave you with the following quote:

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”

- John Wesley, father of Methodism
